Define the work before the tool

Describe the material, desired finished result, average cycle and working environment. This separates similar-looking attachments that solve very different production problems.

  • Material type, density and fragment size
  • Required output, finish or handling accuracy
  • Hours and cycles per shift
  • Access, transport and environmental constraints

Confirm the carrier envelope

Operating weight is only the first check. Pin geometry, available lift, breakout force, auxiliary flow and pressure determine whether the attachment can be fitted and controlled.

  • Make, model and operating weight
  • Pin diameter, pin centers and dipper width
  • Auxiliary flow, pressure and return requirements
  • Quick coupler and control-system details

Choose durability around the duty

Structural reinforcement and wear protection should follow the load path and abrasive zones. More weight is not automatically better if it reduces usable capacity or machine stability.

  • Base structural material
  • Replaceable cutting edges and teeth
  • Wear liners and side protection
  • Service access and replaceable parts
